    Short Description:

    DBA with 11-15 years experience to manage OAG/Child Support Services Microsoft SQL databases. Candidate should possess expert knowledge of MSSQL, emphasis on planning, analysis, design, & implementation of databases, reports, & report interfaces.

    Complete Description:

    This position is in the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia, Information Technology Section. The incumbent will support the Child Support Services Division (CSSD) databases. The mission of the Child Support Services Division is to enhance the well-being of children by assuring the accurate and timely financial and medical support is provided for them.

    The CSSD Database Administrator provides, at minimum, the following general services related to Microsoft SQL Server databases:

    • Designs and maintains on premises SQL Server databases and tables

    • Provide customer support, to internal and external customers

    • Produce system and custom reports upon request using SQL queries

    • Reviews and prepares technical documentation, including data dictionaries definitions, systems flows, program flows, database designs,

    • Oversee enhancements and new feature deployment, including the development requirements and testing scripts

    • Responsible for database problem diagnosis and resolution

    • Recommends improvements to database systems based on the latest developments within the IT field

    CONTRACT JOB DESCRIPTION

    Responsibilities:

    1. Plans, organizes, and implements projects in support of District’s growing information demands.

    2. Ensures the effective use of District resources.

    3. Contributes to policies for effective process planning as it relates to new requirements.

    4. Possesses expert knowledge of the Structured Query Language (SQL) environment with particular emphasis on planning, analysis, design and implementation of reports and report interfaces intended for the end user.

    5. Participates in short-term tactical planning implementation.

    6. Contributes to long-term strategic planning.

    Minimum Education/Certification Requirements:

    Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience
