Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain databases, ensuring high performance and availability.
Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts for data retrieval, reporting, and integration.
Collaborate with software developers to ensure efficient database functionality and integration within applications.
Optimize database systems for performance, scalability, and reliability.
Design and implement database schemas, tables, indexes, and relationships.
Troubleshoot database issues, including data integrity, connectivity, and performance bottlenecks.
Develop and maintain ETL processes to move and transform data across systems.
Ensure data security, backup, and recovery procedures are implemented effectively.
Conduct regular database testing, tuning, and maintenance to improve system efficiency.
Create and maintain documentation for database architecture, processes, and standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
3+ years of experience as a Database Developer or similar role.
Strong proficiency in SQL and relational databases such as MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
Hands-on experience with database design, data modeling, and performance tuning.
Experience with ETL tools, data warehousing, and data integration processes.
Familiarity with database security best practices.
Proficient in troubleshooting and debugging database issues.
Experience working with version control systems..
Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Shell scripting, etc.) is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Experience with NoSQL databases like MongoDB, Cassandra, or Redis.
Knowledge of cloud-based database solutions (AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, Google Cloud SQL, etc.).
Familiarity with data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
Understanding of CI/CD pipelines for database deployments.
