Responsibilities:
Create weekly menu incorporating healthy ingredients
When planning menu, keep ingredients on-hand in mind to avoid waste
Create weekly HEB order
Serve meals on time for breakfast, lunch & afternoon snack
Clean up after meals (clean dishes, wipe counters, stove tops, wall surfaces if needed)
Keep kitchen clean
Keep pantry food sealed to avoid pests
Maintain daily sanitation logs
Know any allergies in the center & ensure those allergens are not given to those people
Follow health department guidelines
Try to incorporate weekly themes into menu descriptions (especially fun weeks)
Must be a team player / flexible to help where needed
Help with classroom transitions, potty breaks, lunch breaks if needed
Be able to sub in classroom for any age
Previous work in childcare a plus
Manage inventory control and ordering of supplies
Ensure adherence to food safety and sanitation standards
Collaborate with management to develop menus and specials
Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional manner
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a leadership role in a kitchen environment
Strong knowledge of food handling, preparation, and production techniques
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of posting to social media
Knowledge of inventory control procedures and ability to manage food costs
Excellent time management skills
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel & Word
Ability to read/write English; good grammar & spelling
Previous experience working in child care
