Harbor View Creative Learning Center is looking for a classroom floater to join our team!
Pay starts between $15.00 - $17.00 based on education and experience. On-going pay raises for all employees are awarded based on meeting program standards and expectations. If you are a good fit for our program, we love to promote and help all our teaching staff grow! Career advancement is always available, and we are willing to assist.
Benefits:
All Employees will accrue Personal Time (PTO) at the rate of 3.8 hours earned for every 40 hours worked. PTO hours do not expire and can roll over to the following year.
Sick Pay will be accrued at 2.6 hours for every 40 hours worked. A maximum of 48 hours will be applied to each employee's policy and paid out for absences due to illness each calendar year. Sick pay hours do not expire and can roll over to the following year.
Holiday pay will be paid based on your individual average hours worked and be paid to each employee after their 60-day probationary period.
$100 monthly bonus for perfect attendance

Responsibilities:
Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, etc.) to teach children
Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem
Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments
Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers, colors, art, etc...).
Communicate with parents regularly to understand the children's background and psyche.
Collaborate with other educators.
Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards.
Desired Skills and Experience:
Experience working in a licensed childcare facility
45 DCF Training Hours
CDA preferred
Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods
Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
Excellent communication and instructional skills
Ability to act as a mediator between children
Cool-tempered, friendly, and reliable
Certification in child CPR or willingness to obtain
