    HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL DO

    The ideal candidate demonstrates a strong desire and ability to build meaningful, caring relationships with students to motivate and influence each student’s progression toward a Complete Life.

    Assist the Principal in running an effective building:

    • Provides supervision and oversight of Student Advocates, if applicable ○ Serve as the stand-in for the Principal in her/his absence
    • Support student learning/behavior plans (medical, behavioral, instructional), building safety plans
    • Ensure student behavior-related programs are within budget
    • Uphold FERPA and mandated reporting requirements and all legal requirements ○ Communicate accurately and timely with the network team, staff, students, and families

    Contribute to effective problem-solving across multiple areas of the school, including instruction, student behavior, parent engagement, student retention and enrollment.

    • Draft problem statements, conduct analysis, gather input, draft plans, analyze results, revise plans, etc.

    Support quality learning for all, aligned with the instructional vision, particularly related to classroom management.

    • Understand and promote the instructional vision and how it supports the mission ○ Observe, provide feedback, coach, and provide PD to teachers
    • Participate and contribute to MTSS (academic and social-emotional)
    • Accountable for academic progress and achievement of students

    Support the cultivation of student behavior aligned with the culture vision.

    • Understand how student behavior contributes to the culture vision; model the Complete Life practices.
    • Proactively cultivate student behavior during the day and during extracurriculars by developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating building-wide routines (e.g., assemblies) and expectations, use of restorative practices, student support groups where applicable, and reflection time
    • Respond fairly and consistently to off-culture behavior by developing, implementing, monitoring, evaluating and ensuring adherence to the behavior management system
    • Assist in the professional development of staff pertaining to student behavior

    Support the Principal to build the culture of the building, aligned with the culture vision.

    Support the Principal to build an understanding throughout the school of how the Complete Life and the American Promise are complimentary themes.

    Engage with and retain families. Assist Principal to build relationships with existing parents in a restorative way.

    • With the Principal, responsible for achieving a high level of student retention (target established with the network)
    • Develop and implement a student retention plan
    • Promote Cornerstone Complete Life vision with parents, and build an understanding of how school initiatives align/support it
    • Model the Complete Life culture in your interactions with families, engaging in a restorative way
    • Communicate parent-school-student expectations clearly, and in a way that builds understanding
    • Provide supports for families to meet those expectations and ask for input and support from families where appropriate

    Attract families, particularly to the youngest/feeder grades.

    • With the school leadership team, responsible for achieving enrollment target across grade levels
    • Develop and implement a plan, in coordination with the network enrollment team, to plan, organize, and facilitate recruitment initiatives during the school year and the summer
    • Understand and promote key reasons that prospective students should attend Cornerstone based on their current situation and aspirations
    • Work pupil accounting staff to better understand the information required for admission and re-enrollment (to support compliance)
