We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Deburr/Machine Shop Assistant to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced machine shop environment.
Job Summary:
The Deburr/Machine Shop Assistant plays a vital role in the production process by ensuring that all machined parts are free from burrs, sharp edges, and defects. This position involves working closely with machinists and operators to maintain high-quality standards and assist in various machine shop operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and a passion for manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform deburring, polishing, and finishing of machined parts using hand tools, power tools, and other equipment.
- Inspect parts for defects, ensuring they meet quality specifications and standards.
- Assist machinists with set-up, operation, and maintenance of machine tools, as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety and housekeeping standards.
- Package and label finished products for quality assurance and shipping.
- Assist in inventory management and restocking of supplies required for deburring and machining processes.
- Follow work orders, instructions, and safety protocols consistently.
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth workflow and address any issues that arise.
- Participate in training and development programs to enhance your skills and knowledge of machining processes.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in machining or manufacturing is a plus.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
- Basic math skills and the ability to read blueprints or technical drawings are advantageous.
- A commitment to safety and a willingness to adhere to all safety protocols and procedures.
- Availability to work flexible hours and overtime, as needed.
