POSITION SUMMARY: As part of the Comprehensive School Support (CSS) strategy, select schools will be supported by teams of experienced educators who will provide intensive, hands-on coaching of principals, school leadership, teacher leaders, and classroom teachers to improve professional practice and accelerate student learning. Each team will provide on-site support in cycles that last typically last 6-8 weeks, supporting capacity-building at schools through a gradual release process in which school teams implement a post-support sustainment plan that is monitored by principals and superintendents.
The Executive Director, Academic Response and Transformation will lead the design, professional development, implementation, evaluation and day-to-day operations of the team of specialists that will work across schools in need of targeted and rapid improvement. Under the direction of the Senior Executive Director, Continuous Improvement, their primary focus will be to ensure the development of high-leverage leadership/teaming structures to ensure the effective use of learner-centered and pedagogical practice being addressed and leveraged to inform rapid improvement cycles. They will lead the creation of effective guidance, expertise, tools, and materials that help educators at all instructional levels in high-need and subgroup areas, as multidisciplinary teams, ensuring that systems and structures are in place for continued organizational effectiveness, effective learning and teaching, and accelerated student achievement.
The Executive Director, Academic Response and Transformation will work closely with Borough/Citywide Offices (B/COs) to build their capacity to support select schools and to foster coherence between B/COs. Performs related work.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
MINIMUM
Must currently possess or will possess by date of hire, New York State certification as a school district administrator (SDA) or school district leader (SDL). PLEASE NOTE: WE DO NOT ACCEPT INTERNSHIP CERTIFICATES.
