Comeaux Furniture and Appliance, is a mid-size company located in the Greater New Orleans area. A family-owned furniture and appliance company seeking an experienced full-time Delivery Driver, appliance experience is a plus. This is a short term, 4 to 6 month fulltime position. Hourly salary will be $20.00 per hour. Comeaux is offering an additional incentive! For every 40 hours you work you will be paid an EXTRA 8 HOURS OF PAY!.

SUMMARY

The Delivery Driver is primarily responsible for making customer deliveries This involves the moving and pulling of merchandise. Inspection of merchandise. and processing of delivery tickets. The work week is Tuesday - Saturday from 7:00am –until job is completed. with 30 minutes for lunch. This job description in no way implies that the duties listed here are the only ones the employee can be required to perform. The employee is expected to perform other tasks, duties, and training as dictated by their supervisors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

include but are not limited to the following: Loading and unloading trucks. Inspect goods to be delivered and or picked-up. Set up and assembly of merchandise in customer's home. Process delivery tickets.

QUALIFICATIONS

The Delivery Driver should possess communication skills, and work well with others. The ability to speak the English language fluently. Must maintain 100% compliance with Federal and State DOT regulations, operate a 26' straight truck, load, unload and assemble furniture and appliances during deliveries.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS

Class D or above Driver's License minimum 1 year driving experience and a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Very heavy duty. Must be able to lift 125 lbs. without assistance. Must be able to walk up and down stairs without impediment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work conditions encountered in this position require working in all weather conditions.
