As we expand, we are looking for a Demand Plannerwith expertise in demand forecasting, data analysis, and advanced tools like SPINS, Nielsen IRI, and ERP systems to help optimize our supply chain operations and ensure the right products are available to meet customer demand.
Job Summary:
The Demand Planner will leverage historical sales data, market insights, and advanced analytics tools (e.g., SPINS, Nielsen IRI, depletion reports) to create accurate demand forecasts and drive better inventory planning. This role will collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain teams and use tools such as Shopify and ERP systems to optimize inventory levels, improve forecast accuracy, and ensure smooth product availability across all channels.
Key Responsibilities:
Demand Forecasting & Planning
Generate and maintain detailed demand forecasts for various product categories (SKU, region, customer, etc.), incorporating both internal sales data and external market data.
Utilize advanced analytics tools such as SPINS, Nielsen IRI, and depletion reports to adjust forecasts based on retail trends, sales performance, and promotional activities.
Analyze historical sales data, seasonal trends, market dynamics, and customer buying patterns to produce more accurate short- and long-term forecasts.
Collaboration & Cross-Functional Alignment
Work closely with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Development teams to integrate promotional plans, new product launches, and market insights into the demand planning process.
Participate in Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) meetings to review forecast accuracy and resolve any supply chain issues or constraints.
Coordinate with the supply chain team to ensure that demand plans align with production and inventory capabilities, ensuring the right product is available at the right time.
Inventory Optimization & Management
Use ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, etc.) to track and manage inventory levels, ensuring an optimal balance between stock availability and inventory turnover.
Analyze depletion reports to identify inventory needs and manage stock levels effectively across various distribution channels.
Monitor slow-moving inventory and work with the team to mitigate risks of excess stock or stockouts.
Data Analysis & Reporting
Generate actionable reports and insights from Nielsen IRI, SPINS, and internal ERP systems, evaluating demand trends and forecasting performance.
Track and analyze forecast accuracy and work on continuous improvements to forecasting models to enhance demand planning efficiency.
Provide regular reports to senior management and cross-functional teams regarding demand forecast performance, inventory levels, and potential supply chain issues.
Technology & Tools Proficiency
Utilize Shopify for sales data and customer insights to adjust demand plans for direct-to-consumer (DTC) channels.
Integrate ERP system data to provide seamless coordination between demand planning and inventory management functions.
Leverage SPINS and Nielsen IRI data to analyze retail sales trends, competitive activity, and consumer behavior, adjusting forecasts accordingly.
Continuous Improvement
Drive improvements in demand planning processes by implementing best practices, optimizing forecasting techniques, and integrating new tools and technologies.
Participate in projects to streamline operations and enhance forecasting accuracy using machine learning or AI-based tools if applicable.
Stay updated on industry trends, technology advancements, and supply chain best practices to continually improve planning processes.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field. MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
Experience:
3-5 years of experience in demand planning, supply chain management, or a related field, with experience in CPG or FMCG industries preferred.
Strong experience with SPINS, Nielsen IRI, depletion reports, and other syndicated data sources to inform demand forecasting.
Proficiency in using ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and familiarity with Shopify for DTC channel analysis.
Proven track record in creating and maintaining demand forecasts and managing inventory optimization in a fast-paced environment.
Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to leverage data from multiple sources to inform decisions.
High proficiency in Excel and experience with forecasting tools (e.g., SAP Integrated Business Planning, Demand Solutions, etc.).
Excellent communication skills to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-moving, dynamic environment.
