Demand Planning Specialist
(On-Site Monday - Friday)
The Demand Planning Specialist will be responsible for creating and managing accurate demand forecasts that align with sales and marketing plans, ensuring an efficient balance between supply and demand across the supply chain. Your role is critical in supporting inventory management, optimizing product availability, and driving the company’s overall business objectives.
As a key support member of the demand planning team, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant data, analyze trends, and adjust forecasts to meet customer and market demand in a fast-paced CPG environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Demand Forecasting amp; Analysis:
- Develop and maintain short-term and long-term demand forecasts based on historical sales data, market trends, promotions, and product lifecycle stages.
- Analyze and monitor forecast accuracy, identifying and addressing variances to improve future forecast performance.
- Adjust demand plans to reflect changes in product demand, inventory levels, and market conditions.
Collaboration amp; Communication:
- Work closely with sales, marketing, finance, and operations teams to ensure demand forecasts are aligned with business goals and promotional activities.
- Act as the point of contact for demand-related queries from cross-functional teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment on demand forecasts.
Inventory Management Support:
- Collaborate with supply chain teams to monitor inventory levels, ensuring optimal stock availability while minimizing excess or obsolete inventory.
- Assist in maintaining the balance between supply and demand to avoid stockouts and overproduction.
Data Analysis amp; Reporting:
- Perform detailed data analysis to identify demand trends, seasonal patterns, and potential risks in the forecast.
- Prepare and present regular reports on forecast accuracy, inventory levels, and demand trends to key stakeholders.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance forecasting processes and tools.
System Management amp; Forecasting Tools:
- Maintain demand planning systems and software, ensuring the accuracy of data inputs and outputs.
- Utilize statistical models and forecasting methodologies to improve forecast accuracy and inform decision-making.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Economics, Statistics, or a related field.
Experience:
- 2-4 years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, or supply chain analysis, preferably in a CPG or fast-moving consumer goods environment.
- Familiarity with demand planning software and tools (e.g., Stock IQ, NetSuite, or other demand planning tools).
Skills amp; Competencies:
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on data analysis and forecasting accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with data analysis tools.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with teams such as sales, marketing, and supply chain.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present data and insights clearly.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
