Job Summary We are seeking a qualified and caring dental assistant to join our team! As a dental assistant, you will provide top-notch dental care that makes our clients feel like family. You will provide assistance to the dentist during exams and procedures and complete administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments. The ideal candidate has completed training through a CODA-accredited program and previous experience as a surgery dental assistant. Responsibilities
Assist chairside during administration of IV conscious sedation.
Take and record medical and dental histories and vital signs of patients.
Instruct patients in oral hygiene and pre- and post-operative instructions.
Expose radiographs CT scans and intra-oral images for diagnostic purposes.
Actively provide hand instruments and materials as needed to the dentist during exams and procedures to help maintain patient comfort and the dentist’s efficiency.
Take impressions and fabricate appliances as prescribed by the doctor.
Ensure dental supplies are in stock and readily available.
Perform routine equipment maintenance and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
Qualifications
Must demonstrate active listening by giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
Must demonstrate good reading comprehension by understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents.
Must demonstrate excellent communication skills by talking to others to convey information effectively.
