JOB STATEMENT
The Dental Assistant supports Dentists and Dental Hygienists in providing quality dental care to patients ** .**
JOB FUNCTIONS
- Greets patients, and assists with check-in/out.
- Notifies dental provider of patient's arrival.
- Helps patients complete health and dental history forms.
- Prepares and cleans rooms for procedures.
- Escorts patients to examination rooms.
- Records medical/dental histories and vital signs.
- Assists during dental procedures.
- Exposes and develops dental radiographs.
- Records treatment information in patient records.
- Schedules appointments, verifies insurance, and handles transactions.
- Cleans and sterilizes instruments.
- Performs other tasks as required by management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Specialized Training/Certifications: Dental Assistant Program, Texas State Board Registration, and CPR Certification
- Experience: None
- Knowledge: General Dentistry, Office Procedures (plus), Fluent in Spanish (plus)
- Skills: Computer Literacy, Patient-Centered Focus, Attention to Detail, and Confidentiality
- Abilities: Speak, Read, and Write English; Stand/Walk Majority of Shift; Assist Patients in Distress
- Other: Maintain Immunizations, and Comfortable with Exposure to Blood/Body Fluids/Tissues
