Responsibilities: • Measure and document vital signs and medical history for patient records, take x-rays of patients’ mouths, and apply a topical anesthetic for dental procedures, if needed • Welcome patient and explain dental care treatment plans so they feel comfortable during their appointment • Prepare and layout sterilized equipment, dental instruments, anesthetics, dental supplies, and materials inside treatment rooms for examinations and dental procedures • Assist dentists and dental hygienists during any procedures or examinations by handing off dental instruments, providing suction, and ensuring chair-side accessibility to the team • Adhere to all dental office infection control policies and safety regulations by disinfecting and sterilizing all equipment and instruments after use • Provide routine dental assisting duties such as setting up/breaking down treatment rooms for patient care, handing instruments and materials to doctor, making radiographs, and communicating with patients. • Stock treatment rooms, mix cements, maintain equipment, assist hygienists occasionally, maintain accurate patient records and documentation, and cement provisional crowns. • Make diagnostic impressions of patient's teeth using a digital scanner or conventional analog materials such as alginate and polyether, make CT scans and photographs of patients. • Participate in all practice trainings that pertain to position, support the practice marketing efforts, anticipate the needs of those with whom they are working and maintain patient privacy. • Maintain regular attendance and adhere to assigned work schedules and office policies. Qualifications: • 3 years of dental assisting experience as a registered dental assistant or certified dental assistant • State licensed as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) • Proficiency with computers, and experience updating patient histories, and with dental software is necessary • Computer skills and experience with dental software and updating patient histories is needed • An Associate’s Degree or a certification from a college or technical school training program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation is required • Valid X-Ray License. • Certified Dental Assistant (CDA/RDA) strongly preferred but not required. • 4 years experience working as a dental assistant is required. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. • Dentrix and digital scanning experience is a plus. • References and background check required. Compensation: $24 - $30 hourly
