Responsibilities: • Get treatment rooms ready for for examination and procedures by equipping them with necessary sterilized equipment, dental instruments, anesthetics, dental supplies, and materials • Help dentists and dental hygienists during procedures or examinations by providing suction, handing off dental instruments, and ensuring chair-side accessibility to the team • Assure all dental office infection control policies and safety regulations are met by disinfecting and sterilizing all equipment and instruments after use • Greet patients and explain dental care treatment plans so they feel comfortable during the appointment • Provide postoperative instructions with methods for infection control of the patients’ teeth and gums after procedures, answer any questions they may have about dental hygiene, and schedule appointments for patient care follow up • Enjoy working with children and putting them at ease • Maintaining patient charts including health history, treatment plans, and operative notes • Taking radiographs • Other duties may include answering phones, checking in patients, and scheduling appointments Qualifications: • Strong interpersonal skills, customer service, organization, and excellent communication skills are essential • Active BLS/CPR certification is required • 2 years of dental assisting experience as a registered dental assistant or certified dental assistant • Proficiency with computers, and experience updating patient histories, and with dental software is necessary • Associate’s Degree or a certification from a college or technical school training program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation is required Compensation: $18 - $25 hourly
