Dental Hygienist

Well established Smithtown dental practice with outstanding staff seeks the right person to join our office family. Friendly, caring, and professional atmosphere lightened with a good deal of laughter. Owner/Doctor general dental practice, not a DSO corporate environment. Two doctors and two hygienists, one hour appointment blocks for hygiene, freedom and flexibility to educate, recommend, and provide the best of care to your patients. Nice place to work two full weekdays and every third Saturday (Saturdays are half days and we don’t work them in the Summer).

Responsibilities:

· Hygiene and periodontal therapy (local anesthesia and Nitrous Oxide available in hygiene rooms).

· Periodic examination, hygiene, and periodontal maintenance program, hygienists can schedule their own patients and set up continuing care.

· Examine, take digital x-rays (we use Air Techniques Scan-X phosphor plate system), discuss findings and suggest possible treatment recommendations with your patient prior to doctor coming in for hygiene check exam. Be an active participant and advocate in your patient’s ongoing care.

· Explain and answer questions so that patients see and understand how our treatment benefits them. We have short but informative patient education videos, and intra-oral cameras with computer monitors mounted for patients to see; you’re encouraged to use them. We educate so our patients can choose what is best for them.

Requirements:

· RDH experience is valued, but responsibility, dedication, and capability are prized.

· Great interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail, and love of learning are invaluable.

· Knowledge of Dentrix software would be helpful

Job type: Part time (Mondays and Thursdays, every third Saturday, flexibility to cover occasional Tuesday if other hygienist is out would be helpful).

Pay: Hourly, $50 and up depending on experience and qualifications. Can wait until January to start for the right person
