What is a Patient Coordinator?
The Patient Coordinator is responsible for greeting and scheduling patients, both in-person and on the phone. They manage overall appointment activities, take detailed phone messages, verify procedure completion, obtain and provide referrals, collect payments, and verify and submit insurance claims. They maintain an orderly waiting room and front desk. They facilitate communication with patients, co-workers, and doctors. They must be able to multi-task in high-volume situations.
