    A Kaniksu Community Health Dental Triage Coordinator is not just responsible for providing excellent customer service. They are committed to providing an excellent patient experience while performing essential clinical or administrative work in a fast-paced, productive environment. YOU ARE an essential team member charged with assisting patients in managing their care at Kaniksu Community Health.

    Under the direction of the KCH Director of Dental and as a member of the Kaniksu Community Health Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) Team, a typical day of a Dental Triage Coordinator might include;

    • Serve as the primary contact for incoming dental-related phone calls, including triage support
    • Scrub upcoming EXT, RPQ, and PM schedules to verify medical clearances and obtain updates as needed
    • Manage ROI (Release of Information) requests, ensuring timely completion and compliance
    • Process all dental referrals and follow up to close referral loops; maintain positive relationships with referral providers
    • Conduct end-of-day patient callbacks following complex procedures
    • Facilitate communication between medical and dental teams when necessary
    • Make appointment reminder calls and confirm premedication needs
    • Perform patient health history reviews and updates
    • Assist with patient recall outreach and help fill open schedule slots
    • Call in prescriptions under provider direction
    • Provide front office coverage and support as needed
    • Act as the direct point of contact for all dental triage-related calls and issues

    Experience Needed to Land this Gig:

    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Previous dental office experience is required
    • Strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures
    • Dental software experience, including ability to chart, and read and interpret chart notes
    • Excellent customer service and communication skills
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic clinic setting
    • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems is a plus
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
