Smile Surfers Kids Dentistry is seeking a Restorative Dental Hygienist for our practices in Kennewick and Richland, WA! ****

**This position is currently 3-4 days per week with potential of 5 days/week.

Our practice offers a retro modern aesthetic of “West Coast in the Sixties” with a focus on Surfing in a contemporary, spacious, and technologically advanced open bay and closed operatories format. We are a forward thinking and growth-minded team with a vision of “Best Care Anywhere!” We pride ourselves on being one of the most inviting practices in our area from entrance to exit with a 14 foot high tube slide, and a real Volkswagen bus to saltwater fish tank, and from genuine surfboards to a size 66 black vans high top, you will love the clean and positive vibe (even if you are not a surfer!).

The ideal candidate:

• Demonstrate genuine kindness and a desire to serve patients, parents and team members using leadership skills and a teamwork mentality

Responsibilities/Duties:

• Management of caries risk via cleanings, fluoride, SDF, sealants
• Utilizing X-rays and computer-generated imaging
• Dentrix Ascend practice management software
• Behavior management via positive techniques and skill building
• Educating patients on good oral hygiene practices and advising them on proper aftercare following certain dental procedures
• Administering local anesthesia to patients as needed
• Providing dental treatment including calculus removal, Silver Diamine Fluoride, sealants, composite fillings, and space maintainers
• Taking impressions of patients’ mouths for the fabrication of space maintainers
• Use Nitrous Oxide for Level I sedation
• Use Versed for minimal/moderate oral conscious sedation

Required Skills/Abilities

• State license
• BLS certification

Physical Demands

• Works in moderate noise
• Sometimes moves boxes and files weighing up to 25 pounds across the office for various needs
