    Job Description

    POSITION OVERVIEW:
    The Department Administrator, Tax Accounting will be responsible for managing the flow of information for Stream’s tax return process at both the state and federal levels. This includes both Stream corporate entities and owned property entities. The role assists the Tax Manager with various tax and accounting tasks throughout the month. The goal of this position is to ensure accurate and timely completion of tax returns.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Download tax returns from the tax preparer's portal and route them to the appropriate reviewer.
    • Collect e-file authorization forms from tax firms, coordinate for signatures and upload the signed documents to the tax firm’s portal.
    • Manage the distribution of K-1s to investors through the Stream K-1 Portal and assist investors with login issues as needed.
    • File annual state renewals for state registrations, ensuring all applicable fees are paid on time.
    • Make online state tax payments via appropriate tax jurisdiction websites, forward payment confirmation to the appropriate teams and maintain accurate banking information for state payments.
    • Registration of state logins and to record to tracker
    • Route invoices from tax firms for payment processing and follow up with outstanding invoices.
    • Collect, scan and log mail, including tax notices in the Notices Tracker and provide weekly updates to the team regarding the status of tax notices.
    • Submit CT Corp invoices for processing and update the invoice tracking system.
    • Scan and certify mail for paper filed returns and notices, maintain proof of mailing, and upload documentation to our tax portal.
    • Update and maintain various tax tracking workbooks, including records of tax returns received, sent for review, finalized, and other key statuses.
    • Gather and maintain investors’ information for new entities, ensuring the permanent records library remains current and accurate.
    • Send requested tax returns to external parties as needed.
    • Perform other projects and tasks as requested to support the tax team.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • An associate's degree or college coursework
    • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
    • Knowledge of and experience with partnership tax returns is required
    • Commercial real estate experience is a plus
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word/Excel is required
    • Yardi or Workday software experience is a plus
    • Exemplary written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to exhibit a high level of confidentiality and high attention to detail
