    Job Description

    AECOM is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Project Manager to be based out of our Glen Allen, VA office. The Deputy Project Manager is responsible for overseeing client policy implementation, quality control, inter- and intra- Virginia governmental agency coordination efforts, regional contract management, and maintaining effective staffing levels.

    • Lead and manage statewide contract and defining project scope, goals, and deliverables
    • Support project plans and monitor progress, adjusting as necessary to ensure successful completion
    • Coordinate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to align project objectives with organizational goals
    • Manage project resources, including budgets and timelines
    • Identify and mitigate potential risks that may impact project success and
    • Implement and manage change when necessary to meet project outputs
    • Evaluate and assess project performance, providing recommendations for future improvements
    • Conduct regular project status meetings and provide timely updates to senior management
    • Ensure project documentation is complete, current, and saved appropriately
    • Foster a collaborative and goal-oriented team environment to drive project success
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelor's Degree plus 8 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of education and/or experience
    • Previous contract management experience
    • Ability and willingness to travel as needed to various client sites throughout Virginia, including possible overnight travel
    • Valid US Driver’s License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices. As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Previous experience working on government contracts
    • Previous management of Virginia Department of Transportation ( VDOT ) contracts
    • Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects from conception to completion
    • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and direct cross-functional teams
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
    • Demonstrated experience in project budgeting, financial management, and resource allocation
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a high level of organization
    • Experience in risk management and developing mitigation strategies
    • Adaptability and flexibility in responding to changing project requirements and priorities
    • Experience working with Human Resources, Legal and other company support teams
