    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Design Engineer II performs complex calculations, drawings and specifications related to HVAC, plumbing or other systems.

    What you’ll do:

    • Performs more complex calculations, drawings and specifications related to HVAC, plumbing, fire protection or other systems. Performs more complex calculations for a project, such as heating/cooling loads, equipment selection and sizing, friction loss calculations, hydraulic calculations, etc.
    • Prepares preliminary redline design layouts for estimating.
    • Manages a single phase of a project.
    • Provides guidance to less experienced engineers.
    • Review applicable codes and criteria and examine field conditions as required to support design of project.

    What you’ll need to be successful:

    • Four-year degree in Engineering or related field
    • 3-4 years of experience
    • PE license
    • In-depth knowledge of applicable systems design, such as fire suppression, HVAC, plumbing, etc., as well as general understanding of system operations.
    • Ability to read mechanical and plumbing plans.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong computer skills, including CADD and Microsoft Office Products, such as Excel.
