Design Engineer
Maple Grove, MN | Direct-hire | $110,000-$130,000 | 100% Onsite
Konik is partnering with a local manufacturing client that is looking to add a Design Engineer to their team. This position will focus on designing custom automation equipment and assemblies.
Design Engineer Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with Design Engineers to develop innovative assemblies and new design concepts.
- Utilize Inventor 3D CAD and AutoCAD 2D to create detailed mechanical parts, assemblies, and associated drawings based on sketches, blueprints, and other design inputs.
- Generate accurate assembly and part detail drawings, ensuring all designs are fully documented.
- Prepare and maintain essential documentation such as Bills of Materials (BOMs), including the assignment of unique part and assembly numbers.
- Identify and select reliable suppliers for mechanical components such as bearings, fasteners, fittings, sensors, and valves.
- Source and incorporate process components, including vision systems, printers, lasers, and drying systems, into designs.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of technical manuals and other documentation.
- Participate in and occasionally lead technical design reviews, meetings, and conference calls to ensure alignment on project goals and specifications.
Design Engineer Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a comparable combination of education and relevant experience.
- Experience designing custom automated equipment
- Proficiency in 3D modeling and CAD tools, with experience in AutoCAD 2D.
- Strong familiarity with the design and application of mechanical components and systems.
