Qualifications
Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience
- Capable use of SolidWorks modeling, drawing and mechanical simulation packages
- Experience selecting engineering grade polymers, metals, platings, composites, and alloys
- Design for manufacturability utilizing machining, molding, turning, stamping and / or additive manufacturing methods
- Knowledge of contact termination, strain relief and over-molding techniques and principles
- Hands-on prototype development experience and rapid prototyping
- Application of FMEA and tolerance analysis tools (including application of GD&T) to inform robust design decisions
- Awareness of EMI/RF shielding and IPXX sealing techniques beneficial
- Knowledge of RF, digital, fiber optic, and power interconnects
- Experience working with medical applications highly desirable
- Familiarity with ISO13485, ISO9001, IEC 60601, and EIA-364
Planning and Decision Making:
- Coordinates with cross functional project team to ensure milestones are achieved and risks are mitigated
- Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment, systems, tools, and process to increase organizational efficiency
- Analyzes and resolves work problems and / or assists others in solving work problems
- Sets priorities and drives completion of needed deliverables with minimal assistance
- Utilizes experience, analytical capacity, problem solving tools, and judgment to plan and accomplish goals

Other Requirements:
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts in verbal and written form using the English language
- Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, and talk or hear.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to be able to travel to Mexico for training twice a year.
Up to 10% travel may be required for training and/or other business purposes including customer and/or supplier visits.
We will consider candidates located in Kansas City, MO or in Tijuana, MX for this role.
Candidates from Mexico must be bilingual in English and Spanish and have the ability to travel for business.
