Design Group is recruiting for a PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST in our Miami, FL location.
WHAT WILL I DO IN THIS ROLE?
The PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST plays an integral role in developing products for designated customers. You will be responsible for item creation, pricing negotiation, and vendor selection. This position will allow you to create and source new items, work with designated customers and the sales team on new development plans, and work with the studio to give guidance and direction on artwork.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to comp shop and learn our customers stores, follow competitors on Instagram, as well as follow Etsy, Pinterest, etc. for new trends and ideas. You will also be responsible for setting up items in Epicor, creating line lists, and setting up UPC's.
Attention to detail is a must as you will be creating and updating specification sheets for new and existing items to be sent to suppliers, as well as quotes. You will also maintain comparison pricing sheets to present best options to the CEO for vendor selection and work with HTSUS and the duty team to set up correct duties on the product development specification sheet.
WHAT SKILLS DO I NEED?
Our preferred candidate is someone with a Bachelor’s degree with focus in Business Administration, Logistics, or Supply Chain management, as well as working experience in supply chain, merchandising, logistics or operations. Someone with prior experience working with key retailers such as Five Below, Ross and Target is a plus, as well as experience buying and supplying goods in China.
The PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST will need to demonstrate excellent organization and communication skills, be able to work in a fast-paced environment, and must be proficient in MS Excel, be computer literate and able to work/ train in new systems.
The person who will excel in this role will be able to multitask while following established processes and be extremely organized, have a strong leadership personality, and the ability to be firm with suppliers. This position will need to be available Mondays from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm for calls with China.
