ABOUT THIS ROLE

Hello prospective pickle! The Design Pickle team is growing, and our Marketing team is currently seeking a rockstar web developer to join our team! The ideal candidate has at least 5 years experience applying their front-end and back-end expertise to develop, optimize and manage Wordpress websites. This position will be the technical owner of our two core properties: DesignPickle.com and FreshStock.com.

REPORTS TO: Director of Marketing

ON A DAILY BASIS, WORKS CLOSELY WITH: Brand and Content team members, as well as our digital marketing specialists.

LOCATION: Our Scottsdale, Arizona HQ preferred or option to work remotely from any location.

Specific to your role, we're looking for individuals who have...

• ENTHUSIASM for our mission: To be the most helpful creative company in the world.
• Bachelor's degree in COMPUTER SCIENCE OR RELATED FIELD.
• Minimum of 5 YEARS EXPERIENCE developing and optimizing Wordpress websites.
• PROVEN WORK EXPERIENCE as a Wordpress Developer - You will be required to share examples of your work.
• Proven experience implementing front-end technologies including CSS3, JAVASCRIPT, HTML 5 AND JQUERY.
• Proven experience IMPLEMENTING AND MAINTAINING BACK-END TECHNOLOGIES including database and server integrations and CDN implementation.
• Proven experience OPTIMIZING WORDPRESS WEBSITES for mobile devices and for speed.
• Experience working with debugging tools such as CHROME INSPECTOR AND FIREBUG.
• Good UNDERSTANDING OF WEBSITE ARCHITECTURE and aesthetics.
• BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF SEO best practices, ensuring that SEO is top of mind and best. practices are implemented and continually optimized as the website matures.
• Good project management and COMMUNICATION SKILLS - the majority of our team works remotely and we need to know you can manage your time effectively.

• Astute EYE FOR DESIGN INTEGRITY and passion for usability-centric design.
• AGENCY ENVIRONMENT EXPERIENCE or within an internal marketing team.
• Experience monitoring and OPTIMIZING WEBSITE PERFORMANCE METRICS.
• Have directly IMPLEMENTED MARKETING ANALYTICS and pixels for conversion tracking.

KEY OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

As a fast growing company, roles always evolve. However we want you to know exactly what you're walking into. In the first 90-days here is a preview of what's expected:

• Collaborate with the Design Pickle Marketing team to create, optimize and manage our two core websites: DesignPickle.com and newly released FreshStock.com.
• Website development and management of DesignPickle.com and FreshStock.com.
• Front-end development of new designs, landing pages and conversion optimization tests.
• Backend development, optimization and management of our database, server and hosting to ensure a smooth customer experience and lightning fast website.
• Be the Marketing team's “go-to” technical resource when it comes to vetting and implementing new technologies that will allow us to continue to succeed in achieving our goals.
• Implementation of conversion tracking code and retargeting pixels as necessary.
• Website QA, testing and debugging.
