    Job Description

    ** Summary:**

    Universal Products and Experiences, Consumer Products Group is seeking a Toy Product Designer to help deliver the best product quality and play experience for our consumers. We are looking for an individual that has great illustration, product design, and strategic skills, is proactive about creating and sharing new ideas, passionate about discovering innovative solutions along with always seeking creative ways to solve challenges.

    ** Responsibilities include:**

    Work closely with Toy Licensees to oversee all stages of product design from concept inception to production completion by providing clear and concise design direction through character draw-overs and creative notes. This role will report to a Design Director in the Universal Products & Experiences Toy development team.

    Additional Responsibilities:

    • Lead projects alongside internal and external cross-functional teams.
    • Create mood boards, concept sketches, and assets for presentations.
    • Research consumer studies, global toy trends, competitive landscape, and relevant events to help partners develop innovative products for the consumer and the play space.
    • Co-create design strategies with the Director based on research and trends.
    • Partner with Category, Retail, and Franchise teams to ensure our Licensees have all the information and tools to deliver compelling products.
    • Support the UP&E Girls/Boys preschool product development process with clear up to date communication, including attending all necessary development meetings.
    • Manage the product submission process through Universal Media Box systems- delivering timely and supportive feedback to our partners.

    Qualifications/Requirements:

    • Bachelors or Associates Degree, preferably in toy design, product design or graphic design

    • 3 + years of Product design and development experience required ( Girls/Boys preschool product development experince preferred).

    • Good communication and presentation skills with the ability to provide thoughtful, clear creative art direction to partners and vendors.

    • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment that revolves around multiple product development calendars.

    • Skilled in Photoshop, Illustrator, and all relevant software for product development including Keynote.

    • Hybrid : This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
