Job Description

General Summary of Duties: This position is responsible for Medical Assistant duties
for RSDS.

• Ensure charts are prepped for clinic at least two days out
• Discharge patients- including checkout when needed
• Discuss orders, medication, testing (prep), inhaler demo, patient assistance
• Programs, DME, etc. with patients
• Check tasks throughout the day and ensure all patients receive a call back by the
• end of the business day
• Assist rooming MA with rooming and injections as needed
• Prior authorizations for Medications and Pre-certs on testing (if needed)
• 6-minute walks per schedule
• Faxes and scans daily
• Review tasks with Physician at end of each clinic
• Float when required
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program with active RMA, CCMA, CMA, or NCMA certification is preferred
• Minimum 1-year experience in a physician practice or outpatient clinic setting
• Knowledge of the meaning and use of medical terminology and abbreviations
• Ability to build rapport with patients
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
