    Desktop Support Technician

    Clearance Requirements: Secret

    Aquila is seeking a Desktop Support Technician to join our team in supporting one of this country's premier defense research organizations.


    A Desktop Support Technician is needed to support the development of new technologies that enable worldwide networked operations for the military and other government agencies.

    Required Skills:

    • 3-4 years of Desktop support experience
    • Experience and familiarity with the following operating systems - Windows Server 2012, 2016, and 2019, Windows 7 and 10.
    • Experience working on Mac systems.
    • The ability to collaborate with team members in order to complete assigned tasks/projects.
    • Experience managing and tracking issues with ticketing programs (Remedy, Service Now, Jira, etc)
    • Install, update, and troubleshoot systems/servers.
    • BS degree or equivalent experience. Any prior military experience is a plus. They will modify the years of experience if someone has the majority of the technical skills and military background.

    Preferred:

    • Systems Administration is a plus.
    • Any Linux experience is a plus.
    • Experience managing classified IT systems, STIGs, SCAPS, RMF.
    • Experience maintaining directory services. (e.g., Microsoft Active Directory, LDAP, etc.).
    • Managing AFS infrastructure to include users, groups, and data.
    • Managing lifecycles of equipment to include computers, servers, and mobility
    • Configuring and managing Cisco/Juniper equipment, including switches, routers, and Call Managers.
    • Troubleshooting mobile devices, including iPhones, iPads
    • Basic experience with managing or operating containers
    • Experience with virtual machines. (e.g., Microsoft Hyper-V, VMWare vSphere, Citrix XenDesktop/Server, Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud, etc.).
    • Experience managing system/server resources, including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability.
    • Able to diagnose and perform repairs on faulty system/server hardware.
    • Develop and document systems administration standard operating procedures.
    • Plan, execute, and verify data redundancy and system recovery procedures.
    • Conduct periodic system maintenance, including cleaning (both physically and electronically), disk checks, routine reboots, data dumps, and testing.
    • Provide ongoing optimization and problem-solving support

    Required Education, Experience, and Other

    • Bachelor's degree
    • Willing to undergo and pass a comprehensive background investigation
    • Covid vaccination with a booster is required.
    • Active Secret Clearance to start and will need to upgrade to a Top Secret clearance once onboarded.

    Location: The candidate will need to be 100% on site.
