    Overview:
    Detail Sheet Metal Operator Trainee is an entry level/trainee position. Detail Sheet Metal Operator Trainees will learn This position is primarily responsible for efficiently performing manual blending, trimming, grinding, and polish on parts and components using multiple types of manual tools that remove rough edges on parts per manufacture drawings (blueprints). Trainees work under complete supervision. In addition, they will provide assistance, learn to perform deburring, graining, tumbling, and cleaning of sheet metal or machined parts; as well as manually operate various equipment, in process inspections, and the importance of safety awareness.

    Key Responsibilities: (include but not limited to) : Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, include and are not limited to the following:

    • Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits.
    • Maintain a safe and clean work area.
    • Learn to select the appropriate tools.
    • Learn to mount correct attachments and determine control settings.
    • Learn proper techniques to perform manual blending, trimming, and grinding.
    • Inspect finishes of workspaces or finished products.
    • Monitor equipment operation to ensure that products are not flawed.
    • Properly dispose of scrap or waste material in accordance with company policies and environmental regulations.
    • Perform other jobs or functions assigned by manager/supervisor.

    Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, include and are not limited to the following:

    • High School Diploma or GED preferred
    • (2) years of consistent working experience. Related experience a plus.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Essential physical requirements pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, include and are not limited to the following:

    • Arm-Hand Steadiness- The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position.
    • Finger Dexterity- The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.
    • Manual Dexterity — The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
    • Strength — (Heavy)- Exert up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
    • Movement- Requires a good deal of walking or standing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, twisting, bending.
    • Near Vision- The ability to see details at close range.
    • Oral Comprehension- The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
    • Written Comprehension — The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
    • Selective Attention- The ability to concentrate on a task over a period without being distracted.
    • Environment conditions and physical surroundings-noise, vibration, atmospheric conditions

    • Comfortable with Technology, open to learning/coachable
    • Equipment: Grinders, sanders, circulars, other vibrating hand tools

    Schedule Types and Hours:

    Days: Monday - Friday 7am to 7:30pm

    Evening: Monday - Thursday 2:30pm to 11:00am
