    Job Summary

    We are seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team! This position has primary responsibility for directing the IMS department and patient health and wellness while providing administrative and nursing oversight throughout the program. The position works directly with the Administrator, Program Director and all team members to coordinate treatment within the overall structure of The Encino Detox Center, modeling the values and mission of The Encino Detox Center and always striving for excellence in client care. This is a leadership role for a medical professional/nurse who thinks and believes, "We Can Do Better."

    Responsibilities

    Restores and promotes patient’s health and wellness by leading, coaching and assisting team members in providing exceptional care and treatment to all clients.

    Collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary team members as directed and indicated.

    Provides physical and psychological support to clients and families as indicated.

    Identifies patient care requirements by establishing personal rapport with clients.

    Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and recovery-centric support to clients.

    Assures quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards, measuring health outcomes against patient care goals along with company, DHCS and TJC standards.

    Resolves patient concerns and needs by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies.

    Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

    Protects clients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols; medication administration and storage procedures; and controlled substance regulations.

    Documents patient care services by charting in patient EMR system timely.

    Maintains continuity among nursing team by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.

    Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential in accordance with company P&P and HIPAA.

    Maintains nursing supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level.

    Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and participating in professional societies along with maintaining current unencumbered license and or registration.

    Maintains a cooperative relationship among care teams by communicating information and participating in team problem-solving methods.

    Contributes to team effort by accomplishing nursing documentation, any indicated medical needs and or Dr. protocols and assisting wherever needed.

    Qualifications/Skills:

    Clinical skills

    Physiological knowledge

    Oversee the self-administration of medication

    Medical teamwork

    Multitasking, listening, and verbal communication

    Health and wellness promotion and is the company ambassador of wellness initiatives.

    KIPU EMR proficient

    Education, Experience, and Licensing/certification Requirements:

    Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)

    Active CA state license or

    Active Medical Assistant Certification

    CPR and First Aid are current

    Clear background check and clear drug screen

    Qualifications would include:

    3+ years of experience with a valid license/certification with requisite experience, passion and desire to be of service to those in need.

    Must have valid CPR/First Aid certification

    Must know addiction medications and side effects.

    Knowledge of doctor transcribing, telephone orders, EMR charting, assessments, admissions, and discharges.

    KIPU and prior SUD/MH treatment experience is required.

    Ability to confidently and competently document using medical necessity terminology with a focus on medical necessity.

    Qualifications

    BLS Certification or Certified Medical Assistant desired

    Excellent customer service skills

    Strong attention to detail
