    Job Title: Developer, Web

    Duration: 12 Months
    Hours/Week: 40.00 (No Overtime Expected)
    Work Location: Gap Inc., 2 Folsom, San Francisco, CA

    Qualifications:

    • Technical Expertise:
      • Proficiency in Java Spring Boot framework, including object-oriented design.
      • Experience with both relational and NoSQL databases.
      • Proven ability to design and build microservices-oriented architectures and extensible REST APIs.
      • Strong understanding of architectural design patterns, reliability, and scalability.
      • Hands-on experience writing CI/CD pipelines; GitHub Actions preferred.
      • Familiarity with operational portals such as Azure Portal.
      • Knowledge of application monitoring tools and performance assessments.
      • Expertise in security protocols, including Active Directory, SAML, OAuth, and other authentication methods.
    • Problem-Solving and Tooling:
      • Strong problem-solving skills with a deep understanding of developer tooling across the software development lifecycle (task management, source code, building, deployment, operations, and real-time communication).
    • Preferred Experience:
      • Retail industry experience is a plus.

    Experience:

    • Professional Development:
      • 8+ years of professional software development experience within Java and Spring Boot frameworks.
    • Architecture & Design:
      • 3+ years of experience in architecture and design, including modernizing monolithic applications to event-driven or microservices architectures.
    • Cloud Services:
      • 3+ years of experience with cloud platforms such as OCI, GCP, or Azure (Azure preferred).
    • CI/CD & Containers:
      • 3+ years of experience writing CI/CD pipelines; GitHub Actions preferred.
      • 2+ years of experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and container registries.
    • Messaging & Monitoring:
      • 3+ years of experience working with Confluent Kafka (writing producers and consumers).
      • 3+ years of experience with monitoring and observability tools like Splunk and Google Log Analyzer.
