    Reid Park Zoological Society is seeking a Development Coordinator. Two years of development work experience required.

    The Society is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to create inspiring memories for all by connecting people and animals to ensure the protection of wild animals and wild places. We provide educational and fun experiences for visitors of all ages. Reid Park Zoo is the largest attended cultural attraction in Southern Arizona with approximately 500,000 visitors annually.     ** Overview**

    The Development Coordinator is responsible for recording and acknowledgements of donations, handling mailings, responding to customer inquiries and phone calls, data entry of solicitation and other mailing lists, recording interactions, handling expense requests, administration of donor services and benefits and other duties as assigned.

    The Development Coordinator is also responsible for working with donors as they explore and select a brick, plaque or bench recognition opportunity, and coordinates the order and installation.

    The ideal candidate has a passion for non-profit work and the Mission of the Zoo.

    The position builds and fosters relationships with Reid Park Zoo donors, members, supporters, and vendors in order to build awareness of the value of Reid Park Zoo to its numerous constituents.

    Reports to : Chief Development Officer

    ** Responsibilities:**

    ** Development**

    • Trains and oversees the coordination of day-to-day tasks of the Development Associate
    • Daily entry of gifts and pledges and updates to mailing lists
    • Maintain donor lists and clean database
    • Record donor interactions for the department
    • Process timely acknowledgement letters to all donors within 48 hours of receiving gifts
    • Work with donors as they explore and select recognition opportunities
    • Coordinate, order and track donor recognition bricks, plaques and benches
    • Coordinate and oversee donor records and filing
    • Coordinate and supervise development volunteers as needed
    • Handle expense request submissions
    • Provide administrative support for Development department
    • Take notes at meetings and produce agendas
    • Coordinate and fulfill orders for Jim Click Automotive Team’s Millions for Tucson annual raffle for Reid Park Zoological Society
    • Research opportunities for grants

    ** Development Events**

    • Process acknowledgement and solicitation letters relating to development events
    • Process ticket purchases for various events
    • Enter sponsorships and gifts into donor database for events
    • Take RSVPs for special events and enter into donor database
    • Coordinate and supervise volunteers as needed
    • Provide initial assistance with customer inquiries regarding events
    • Assist at events, which may be outdoors

    ** Administrative**

    • Perform duties in accordance with RPZS policies such as completing expense reports, purchasing and cash handling procedures
    • Provide excellent customer service as a component of all job duties

    Minimum qualifications and skills

    • Two years of Development work experience
    • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for education
    • Current driver’s license
    • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Google email
    • Demonstrated customer service, problem solving, decision making, team building, time management and motivational skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with volunteers, donors, community partners and vendors
    • Regular, physical attendance at work
    • Ability to work flexible schedules including occasional evenings and weekends
    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects
    • Ability to provide development staff with weekly meeting agendas; attend weekly development meetings and provide meeting notes as requested
    • Any other reasonable duties as assigned

    ** Preferred qualifications and skills**

    • Bachelor degree
    • Knowledge & experience of Blackbaud products or Altru software
    • Bi-lingual (Spanish)
