    TITLE: Development Coordinator

    POSITION TYPE: Part-time (up to 30 hours per week)

    PRIMARY FUNCTION:**
    In accordance with the elements of competence established for Boys & Girls Club resource development professionals, the Development Coordinator is responsible for generating fundraising income through campaigns targeting foundations, corporations, civic groups and individual donors within the community. The Development Coordinator provides writing support for foundation and corporate grant requests and acknowledgment of donor gifts; provides coordination to the board of directors and staff in the planning and implementation of special events; and coordinates with staff and board in seeking grant funds. **

    KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):** ** _
    Strategic Planning_** _
    1. Contribute to the planning and implementation of the strategic plan regarding activities relating to donor solicitations and other club fundraising efforts._ ** _

    Resource Development _
    2. Contribute to attaining financial support:_
    • write grant proposals for foundation support;
    • work with club management to solicit corporations and civic groups for donations and other support; and
    • Plan and implement special fundraising events. ** _

    Resource Management _
    3. Manage administrative and operational systems to:_
    • Track fundraising income, compile income status reports and variance reports; and
    • Recognize contributions with acknowledgment letters and special recognition events. _
    4. Ensure a productive working environment, providing staff support to Club management on fundraising issues. Represents staff at various committee_ meetings, assists in mailings, writes follow up letters and enters necessary data regarding club donors. _
    5. Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required or as assigned._ **
    RELATIONSHIPS:** **
    Internal:** Maintain oral and written contact with the Chief Executive Officer, Director of Operations, staff peers, and volunteers for the purpose of exchange of information, to provide progress reports regarding activities and planned programs, and to coordinate events.

    External : Maintain contact with community and corporate leaders, schools, parents and local residents to seek financial support and provide information regarding club activities and needs. **

    SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:**
    • Associates' degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience.
    • A minimum of two years' work experience in a Boys or Girls Club or similar not-for-profit organization with an emphasis on fundraising, marketing, management, budgeting, community and public relations.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Knowledge of accounting principles as they relate to fundraising issues.
    • Ability to interact professionally with Club staff, Board members, volunteers, and other related stakeholders **

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:**
    • Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time
    • Must be able to lift 25 pounds regularly, and up to 50 pounds periodically
    • Ability to work in environments with a wide array of noise and activity levels
