About the Position – Summary
The Development Data and Operations Coordinator is a key member of the Development and Communications team, playing a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and security of the donor database while also supporting fundraising efforts, donor engagement, and communications initiatives. This position is more than just data management—it is an opportunity to take ownership, manage up within the team, and contribute to strategic donor stewardship, reporting, and engagement.

The right candidate will not only manage data with precision but also identify opportunities to improve processes, enhance donor relationships, and contribute to external communications through writing, editing, and design (if applicable).

In this role, you will collaborate closely with development and communications colleagues, ensuring fundraising success and strengthening donor relationships through accurate data, insightful reporting, and strategic engagement.
Who We Are Seeking
This position is ideal for a self-starter who thrives in a collaborative yet independent environment. You should be comfortable with data entry, reporting, and donor stewardship while also taking the initiative to support and enhance fundraising and communication efforts. Strong writing, editing, and design skills (if applicable) are a plus, as this role provides opportunities to contribute to donor communications, newsletters, and other external materials.
The Development Data and Operations Coordinator will play a key role in shaping donor experiences, supporting events, and providing critical insights through data analysis. Additionally, this role offers significant growth opportunities, with training and professional development provided to expand your skills and leadership capabilities within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Data Management
• Take ownership of managing and maintaining the donor database to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and integrity.
• Collect, sort, identify and enter daily development data into Raisers Edge NXT, including gifts, pledges, notes and stewardship activities.
• Process and acknowledge gifts in a timely and personalized manner.
• Generate customized reports and lists for strategic discussions, presentations, and Board meetings.
• Collaborate with the Finance Department to reconcile donor records, including weekly reporting and annual audits.
**Fundraising & Communications Support **
• Execute donor stewardship efforts, helping the Development team cultivate and maintain donor relationships.
• Assist in the development and execution of fundraising strategies to enhance donor engagement.
• Support donor engagement activities, including fundraising events and sponsorship outreach.
• If applicable, contribute to writing, editing, and designing donor-related materials and other communication content.
**Administrative & Cross-Team Collaboration **
• Serve as a central support to the Development and Communications team, ensuring seamless coordination across projects.
• Research and identify new partnership and sponsorship opportunities.
• Assist in communications, grant writing, and planned giving efforts.
• Analyze and track fundraising performance through weekly and monthly reports.
• Support the team with administrative tasks, including printing, stuffing, mailing, and other essential duties.
• Take initiative in improving processes, bringing forward innovative ideas, and contributing to team-wide discussions on strategy and growth.
About the Position - Qualifications
Qualifications Required:
• High attention to detail with experience managing and organizing data.
• BA/BS degree from an accredited four-year university.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Experience with CRM databases and data reporting.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative and contribute meaningfully to team success.
Preferred:
• Experience with Raiser's Edge 7, Raiser's Edge NXT, or other donor databases.
• Understanding of fundraising principles and donor stewardship best practices.
• Writing, editing, and/or design experience for external communications.
• Experience working in Canva or other design software.
This is an hourly position starting at $16.83-$25.48/hr.
