Developmental Specialist – Early Intervention – 3112 Child and Adolescent Services – REACH Early Intervention Program Location: Hampshire/Franklin County, MA (Greenfield and North Quabbin) Full-Time and Part-Time Opportunities
Starting Pay: $24.50/hour
Position Summary
REACH, our Early Intervention Program, provides specialized services through a multidisciplinary team to families with children ranging from birth to three years old who have, or are at risk for, developmental delays. The program supports parents in understanding their children’s developmental needs and teaches them effective strategies to support their child’s growth. Intensive treatment is also available for families with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders.
Position Responsibilities
Collaborate within a team-based system, working alongside physical therapists, occupational therapists, social workers, speech-language pathologists, nurses, and nutritionists.
Participate in eligibility assessments for children as required by the Department of Public Health (DPH).
Develop and implement teaching strategies and activities that promote developmental progress for young children.
Design and execute individualized developmental programs for children based on their unique needs.
Serve as a service coordinator, addressing family needs, supporting family dynamics, and coordinating children’s programs with medical, social service, and educational staff from other programs.
Qualifications
Experience working with young children (birth to age 5) and their families.
Bilingual (Spanish/English) proficiency is a plus.
Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred. Degree transcripts must include at least four approved 3-credit courses focusing on infants, toddlers, or families.
At least 300 documented hours of practicum or work experience with children under age 5, with additional experience with infants, toddlers, or families preferred.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Ability to pass a background screening.
