Job Summary:
Independence Excavating performs contract crushing as well as mining processing services for various types of aggregate. The Crusher Operator is responsible for the operation and necessary maintenance of assigned Heavy Equipment in carrying out tasks to process different aggregates.

Working Conditions:
Work is performed outdoors, in various weather conditions which can include extreme temperatures. Work environment periodically exposes employees to high levels of noise, commonly found in crushing operations. Employee regularly works around heavy equipment and/or moving machinery. At times employee may be exposed to uneven ground surfaces, vibration from machinery, dust, chemicals, and heights.
Physical Requirements:
Physical demand is heavy, occasionally requiring ability to lift between 50-100lbs. While operating heavy equipment this position involves consistently sitting for extended periods. Frequently operator would be required to climb, balance, reach, bend and twist. Physical dexterity to use hand tools and operate equipment is required. Occasionally, operator would be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and crouch. To perform job satisfactorily, operator would need to speak, hear, and visually have satisfactory near acuity, far acuity, depth perception, color vision and field vision.
