    Summary:

    Caracas Construction Corp. is seeking to add an experienced Diesel Mechanic to perform repairs, maintenance, and diagnostics on heavy-duty trucks and construction equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, experience working on heavy duty trucks / construction equipment, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to ensuring the safety and reliability of our fleet. This position will report to our main facility in Ludlow, Massachusetts.

    Responsibilities:

    • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty trucks and construction equipment, including but not limited to engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, cooling systems, hydraulic systems, and various body work.
    • Diagnose mechanical issues.
    • Replace, repair, and adjust components such as hydraulic hoses/pumps/pistons, undercarriage, brakes, radiators, suspension.
    • Occasional welding.
    • Performing repairs and maintenance in the field. Must be willing to work in the rain, in cold temperatures, and in the heat.
    • Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
    • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs performed on each vehicle.
    • Collaborate with other mechanics and support staff to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical problems.
    • Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements related to diesel engines and heavy equipment.
    • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols.
    • Communicate effectively with management regarding vehicle condition and maintenance needs.

    Requirements:

    • Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic, with a minimum of 10 years combined experience in heavy-duty trucks and equipment.
    • Strong knowledge of diesel engine components, systems, and repair techniques.
    • Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and technical documents.
    • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
    • Must have own tools.
    • Ability to work independently.
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
    • Ability to lift heavy parts and equipment, and work in a physically demanding environment.
    • A valid US drivers license.
    • OSHA 10 Certification.
    • Ability to obtain a DOT medial card.
