You’ll troubleshoot everything from shoddy air conditioning to vehicle electrical systems, conducting preventive maintenance and structural repairs along the way. We need a candidate with stellar communication skills and a strong work ethic. If this sounds like you, start your application today! We are looking for a mechanic to work from Monday - Friday. Responsibilities: • Inspect, test drive, and perform diagnostic tests to determine vehicle problems, parts needed for repairs, and necessary work • Encourage and facilitate preventive maintenance work such as oil changes, air conditioning service, flushing, brake replacement, tire rotation, and more • Remedy mechanical problems and malfunction codes that are identified in the vehicle's electrical system, mechanical systems, and electronic systems • Engaging in learning opportunities to update job knowledge and technical skills • Maintain accurate customer records for vehicles’ repairs, parts, maintenance histories, and more • Diagnose issues with semi-tractors using a computer and performing PM services and minor repairs to our mostly Detroit engine fleet • Conduct repairs and replacements of faulty or worn-out parts, such as brakes, transmissions, engines, and cooling systems • Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve complex mechanical problems • Perform preventative maintenance tasks to ensure the longevity and optimal performance of the truck fleet • Collaborate with other mechanics and team members to efficiently complete repair jobs • Keep detailed records of all maintenance and repair work performed • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area • Stay updated on industry advancements, new technologies, and best practices in diesel truck maintenance Qualifications: • Strong work ethic and excellent communication skills are necessary • Required state-issued driver’s license • Possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent • Strong manual dexterity and proficiency with hand tools and other repair shop equipment is necessary • Associate’s degree from a vocational program, technical school, or community college is preferred - ASE certification is a big bonus Compensation: $25 - $35 hourly
