Dousman Transport is seeking a self-driven individual to work independently as a diesel mechanic. The successful applicant must have a comprehensive diesel and electronics background.

Qualifications

• Prior school bus experience and ASE/OEM certifications (highly desirable)

• Vocational or technical degree (highly desirable)

• WI state driver’s license with safe driving record.

• Applicant should have or be willing to obtain a CDL with a School Bus endorsement (we will train)

• Strong mechanical/troubleshooting aptitude

• Familiarity with engine/transmission diagnostic software

Job responsibilities include maintenance and repair of a fleet of approximately 20 diesel school buses. Diagnose and perform all phases of vehicle repair including:

• Major/minor engine repairs, transmissions, brakes, compressors, fuel systems, wheelchair lifts, etc.

• Complete work orders accurately; maintain service records, including repairs completed and parts used

• Perform preventative maintenance and safety inspections at required intervals

• Respond to road calls, as necessary

• Other responsibilities, as required
