Diesel Technician/ Mechanic

  • Responsibilities

    The Diesel Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and related systems in a variety of vehicles, including trucks, buses, and construction equipment. They will perform routine maintenance, such as oil changes, tune-ups, and brake repairs, as well as more complex repairs and troubleshooting. They will also inspect vehicles for compliance with safety regulations, and provide recommendations for further repairs or maintenance.

    Responsibilities:

    • Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines and related systems
    • Perform routine maintenance, such as oil changes, tune-ups, and brake repairs
    • Troubleshoot and repair complex issues
    • Diagnose and repair engine faults
    • Replace worn or damaged parts
    • Inspect vehicles for compliance with safety regulations
    • Provide recommendations for further repairs or maintenance
    • Outfit vehicles with custom parts and electrical components
    • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines
    • Maintain accurate records of all repairs and maintenance

    Qualifications:

    • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience working with diesel engines
    • ASE certification is a plus
    • Attention to detail
    • Read and interpret blueprints and electrical diagrams
    • Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve
    • Good communication and teamwork skills
    • A degree or diploma in diesel technology or a related field is a plus
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
    • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or apprenticeship in a related field is a plus
    • Must have a valid driver's license

    Salary info:

    $26 - $32 / hr
