Cedar Park Med is seeking a dedicated and experienced Inpatient Dietitian to provide comprehensive Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) and nutrition assessments for patients across the lifespan— infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations. In this role, you will collaborate with the clinical team to assess, diagnose, and manage patients' nutritional needs in an acute care setting. You'll help improve nutritional status, reduce hospital length of stay, and support better overall patient outcomes.
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 A.M. – 4:30 P.M. 13 weeks contract. Weekend coverage required
Perform comprehensive nutrition assessments using standardized tools, including the Malnutrition Screening Tool , to identify malnutrition and develop care plans.
Document nutritional diagnoses, interventions, and monitoring plans in the patient's medical record.
Initiate, implement, or modify physician- or practitioner-driven nutrition orders, including:
Nutrition supplements and dietary modifications
Diet texture changes for dentition or preferences
Nutrition-related lab tests and medications
Nutrition education and counseling
Manage enteral and parenteral nutrition therapies , including:
Formula selection, rate adjustments, and supplemental additions
Vitamin/mineral supplementation and fluid adjustments based on clinical needs
Collaborate with medical staff during patient care rounds and participate in Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement (QAPI) programs.
Attend departmental meetings, staff development sessions, and relevant professional programs.
Registered Dietitian (RD) credential and licensure in the applicable state.
Minimum 2 years of experience in an inpatient or critical care setting (preferred).
Strong clinical knowledge of nutrition support therapies.
Familiarity with interdisciplinary care and EMR documentation.
CNSC certification preferred (Certified Nutrition Support Clinician).
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
