Position Title: Digital Media Coordinator

Parameters: Full-time; 12 months/year Pay Range: $45,000
Position Summary: The Digital media coordinator is responsible for managing the digital assets of the university. They work with a variety of different teams to ensure that all their content is properly organized, tagged, and stored in a central location. Digital media coordinators may also be tasked with creating new digital content—they might write blog posts, create social media posts, or shoot videos to be used on company websites or other online platforms.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Developing effective marketing campaigns for digital mediums such as websites and social media platforms
Monitoring website performance and making adjustments when needed
Developing content for the company’s website and social media platforms
Participating in marketing research to identify new trends in consumer behavior and interests
Creating images, animations, or video content using computer software such as Photoshop or Illustrator
Coordinating with other departments to develop and execute marketing plans that incorporate digital media components such as email campaigns, blogs, podcasts, or videos
Reviewing incoming bids from advertising agencies or other vendors for digital media projects pertaining to websites, social media, mobile apps, e-books, or other online media
Overseeing the development of online publications such as blogs, online journals, or interactive databases

Additionally, employees must understand the comprehensive role of the community college and cooperate and work harmoniously with students, faculty and staff, and the public. Education and Experience Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as digital media, advertising, or graphic design. Some coursework in digital media design, digital media production, digital media management and digital media advertising.
• At least two years of experience in a professional setting.
• Proven organizational and time management skills to prioritize assignments, manage multiple projects simultaneously, under deadline pressures and with fluctuating priorities. Work both independently and cooperatively to accomplish duties with minimal supervision.
• Creativity, resourcefulness, and the use of original ideas.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, includes editing and proofreading to produce quality marketing materials. Strong writing skills with the ability to compose creative, concise directed copy, which is both informative and accurate.
• Proven ability to make presentations to small and large groups.
• Ability to work and effectively communicate with diverse campus and community populations including students, alumni, campus departments, colleagues, faculty, administration, and employers to plan and execute all aspects of outreach efforts, and program publicity and promotional activities.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Social media skills: Social media skills are a crucial part of a digital media coordinator’s skill set. They are responsible for managing and updating company social media accounts, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and more. They need to know how to create engaging posts and how to respond to comments and messages.
Technical skills: Technical skills are the abilities you must use to perform a task. For example, if you’re a digital media coordinator, you might have technical skills in digital marketing, graphic design, and social media.
Communication skills: Communication skills are essential for digital media coordinators. They use these skills to communicate with clients, colleagues, and other professionals. They also use these skills to convey messages and information to their clients and colleagues.
Marketing skills: A digital media coordinator often works with marketing teams to create digital marketing campaigns. This requires knowledge of marketing strategies and tactics. You can use your marketing skills to develop strategies for promoting a brand or product, create advertisements and analyze the success of a campaign.
Project management: As a digital media coordinator, you may be responsible for overseeing the production of a company’s social media accounts, website, and other digital media. This requires strong project management skills, including the ability to delegate tasks, track progress and ensure deadlines are met.
Work Environment: Work is primarily performed under general supervision in an office setting with appropriate climate control. Travel, early morning, evening, and weekend work may be required.
Physical Requirements: Essential functions of this position require: lifting, manual dexterity, ability to communicate.
Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body; involves sitting majority of time; walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met
Mental Application: Utilizes memory for details, verbal instructions, emotional stability, critical thinking, adaptability, and creative problem-solving skills are important.
