    Hithium Tech USA is opening a new manufacturing facility in the Mesquite area, and we are looking for a dynamic and experienced Direct Materials Buyer to play a crucial role in localizing our Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) supply chain.     The Direct Materials Buyer is responsible for purchasing direct materials for Hithium BESS System factory in Texas. This position will be working closely with cross-functional teams including Supplier Quality Management, Engineering and Manufacturing teams to localize BESS supply chain to US. As a Direct Materials Buyer, your day-to-day job will involve RFQ's, RFP's, supplier selection, contract negotiation, order management, supplier performance evaluation, request for payment, etc. You will also be providing regular reports to the stakeholders at the plant level as well as the global supply chain level on US supply chain status.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Developing and implementing supply chain strategy for assigned materials.
    • Maintaining material cost meeting management expectations.
    • Negotiating supplier contracts.
    • Selecting and developing new suppliers. New supplier onboarding
    • Executing PO in Hithium order management system.
    • Communicating with vendors regarding delivery schedule, quality issues.
    • Working with HQ procurement team and logistics team to support custom clearance for oversea deliveries.
    • Monitoring delivery schedule, providing update to stakeholder.
    • Developing and maintaining supplier relationships.
    • Initiating and participating in cost reduction, continuous improvement programs.
    • Timely resolving non-conformance issues.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Required Skills and Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain, or other equivalent procurement related certifications.
    • 5-8 years of supply chain experience in EV Battery or Battery Energy Storage industry.
    • Familiar with the procurement and supplier development process for manufacturing.
    • Strong negotiation skills, specifically with large supply contracts.
    • Self-starter with strong teamwork skills. Ability to form and work with cross-functional teams.
    • Proficient with Microsoft office skills
    • Strong presentation and communication skills for different audiences.
    • Willing to travel up to 30%, some international travel might be required.
