Direct Service Professional - In Home Support
Job Description
MBI provides professional mental health services to over 3,000 consumers in its mental health programs. It is our goal to embrace, advocate, and empower the minds and lives of men, women, and children. Our highly-experienced healthcare professionals provide premium services throughout the DC Metropolitan Area.
MBI is seeking dedicated individuals, who want to help facilitate change and growth, to work with adults and children that have serious mental illness and disabilities as Direct Service Professionals. This position provides an opportunity to work as a home care provider in support of our wonderful consumers.
Part-Time Hours (Monday through Friday)
Responsibilities and Duties
Provide assistance with personal hygiene.
Provide a safe environment for the consumer.
Provides companionship in the consumer’s home
Accompany consumer on community outings, recreational and leisure activities.
Help with meal preparation .
Conduct light housekeeping
Conduct monthly fire drills.
Assist with other care-giver duties as needed to support the consumer.
Ensure proper amount of food is in the facility at all times to fulfil nutrition requirements.
Complete shift checklist and all task outlined in the checklist daily on every shift.
Check adaptive equipment: ensure cleanliness and in good working order.
Check and ensure that water temperature, fire extinguishers, smoke detectors and sprinklers meet requirement.
Immediately report any malfunction of equipment to the Residential Manager.
Collect all mail from the properties relative to utility bills, court notices etc, and submit to Residential Manager.
Ensure that during inclement weather and other emergencies all preventative and safety precaution activities are implemented as outlined in company policies.

Compensation: $17.50 per hour
