We are currently seeking a caring and skilled Direct Support Professional (DSP) or Certified Home Health Aide (HHA) to join our team and provide crucial support to a private care client.
Job Summary:
As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) or Certified Home Health Aide (HHA), you will play a vital role in assisting our client with their daily activities and personal care. The ideal candidate will have experience or a strong interest in working with individuals with cerebral palsy and be willing to undergo training if necessary. Your compassionate support will help our client maintain their independence and improve their overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide personal care and support to the client in their home, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
Support the client with mobility and physical therapy exercises as directed by their care plan.
Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and ensuring proper nutrition.
Help with household tasks such as light housekeeping, laundry, and maintaining a clean and safe living environment.
Offer emotional support and companionship, fostering a positive and supportive relationship.
Monitor and report any changes in the client’s condition or behavior to the appropriate healthcare professionals or family members.
Follow the care plan and any specific instructions provided by the client’s healthcare team.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided.
Qualifications:
Certification as a DSP preferred. Certified Home Health Aide (HHA) acceptable, must be willing to undergo training if necessary.
Experience with cerebral palsy or a strong interest in working with individuals with cerebral palsy is a plus.
Previous experience in a similar caregiving role is beneficial.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a compassionate, patient-centered approach.
Reliable, punctual, and able to adhere to the specified schedule.
Must pass a background check and any other required screenings.
