Job Description

Homewatch Caregivers® is a non-medical, in-home care agency. We provide unique care to adults of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities in the comfort and safety of their preferred residence. We are currently seeking a compassionate, patient, and energetic individual to provide support to one of our intellectually disabled clients. This client is an older adult male and is located in the Langhorne, PA area.

He is a friendly, active gentleman, who enjoys going on community outings, playing with model trains, and watching movies. As someone with an intellectual disability, this client often struggles to express his emotions and can become agitated due to this. An empathetic, patient individual with an open mind and strong communication skills would be an ideal fit for this client. This particular client does not require any personal care, just supervision and assistance as needed.

PART TIME POSITION. MORE CLIENTS/SHIFTS AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST

Responsibilities/Job Duties

• Supervise and assist client in safely preparing meals and ensuring proper nutrition.

• Accompany client on community outings, appointments, and social engagements. (this may include the mall, the movies, or out to eat)

• Interact and engage with client through conversation, games, and emotional support.

• Make appropriate accommodations to promote autonomy and increase independence.

• This client has a goal of working on his financial independence and money management.
