DSP Floater - $21.00 per hour
DSP Responder - $25.00 per hour (actively responding to emergencies)
**** Schedule: Varying hours, including weekends and holidays. Must be available to travel and have the flexibility to deploy for up to two weeks at a time.
Momentum is a leading provider of support services for individuals with disabilities across Southern California. We are currently seeking a highly motivated Direct Support Professional - Floater / Responder to join our team. This unique position involves providing support within our residential, adult day, and Refresh programs, as well as responding to emergency crises when needed. DSP Floater / Responder Responsibilities:
- Flexible Support : Be ready to adapt and assist in different roles and settings as needed within Momentum's Refresh Program. This includes residential homes, day programs, and community outings.
- First Responder: Act as the first point of contact to address and resolve any urgent situations, including behavioral issues, medical emergencies, or unexpected challenges that may arise.
- Individualized Support: Provide personalized care and support to clients based on their unique needs, assisting with activities of daily living, personal care, and behavioral interventions.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records and documentation of client progress, incidents, and interactions according to established procedures and protocols.
- Community Integration: Encourage and support clients in participating in community activities, fostering social connections, and promoting inclusion.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and the broader support team to ensure a holistic approach to care.
- Safety and Training: Follow safety protocols, participate in ongoing training and development, and implement best practices to ensure the safety and well-being of clients.
- Supportive Environment: Foster a positive, inclusive, and empowering environment that promotes clients' independence and self-advocacy.
DSP Floater / Responder Qualifications :
- Willingness to travel for up to two weeks
- Team player attitude and a strong commitment to helping others
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Valid and current proof of legal right to drive in California (required)
- Reliable means of transportation (required)
- Clean driving record with DMV driver's record printout (required)
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
- Experience working with developmentally disabled individuals (highly preferred)
- Successful completion of all post-offer, pre-employment screening requirements, including background check, drug screening, health screening, TB screening, and proof of eligibility to work in the United States
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including running, pushing, pulling, bending, squatting, kneeling, and lifting up to fifty (50) pounds
