Direct Support Professional (DSP) – Outpatient Adult Developmental Services
A Direct Support Professional (DSP) is needed at an outpatient adult developmental disability program in Charlottesville, VA.
The DSP will support individuals in developing life skills, engaging in community activities, and ensuring active participation in social and recreational opportunities.
Salary and Benefits:
- Starting hourly rate: $16.54 - $18.00+ – (higher hourly rates are offered to experienced candidates.)
- Paid Time Off: 38 days total (Vacation: 12 days, Sick time: 12 days, Holidays: 11 days, 3 floating holidays)

- Monday through Friday 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM Schedule – some evening and weekend times may be assigned on scheduled community engagement activities.

Responsibilities:
- Directly implement individual support plans for clients in both center-based and non-center-based community services.
- Provide systematic training in social, behavioral, personal care, communication, leisure/recreation, and community living skills.
- Complete daily documentation for service delivery, interventions, client observations, medication assistance, and other documentation as required
- Facilitate individuals in integrated community settings to support full access and participation
- Assist individuals in identifying and pursuing personal interests.
- Seek out additional services and resources in the community for program participants as needed.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Two years of experience in a human services field preferred.
- Valid Virginia Driver’s License plus an acceptable driving record as issued by the Division of Motor Vehicles is required.
- Knowledge of the characteristics of intellectual disabilities, autism, aging, epilepsy, cerebral palsy.
