Mildred’s Helping Hands is a compassionate and community-focused home care agency dedicated to providing high-quality support services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). We are currently seeking dedicated, reliable, and caring professionals to join our BDS program team.
Job Summary:
As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will provide hands-on support to individuals with IDD, helping them live independently, achieve personal goals, and participate meaningfully in their communities. You’ll work directly with clients in home, school, or community settings depending on their needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
Assist with daily living activities, including hygiene, meal prep, and medication reminders
Support clients in developing social, communication, and life skills
Help implement individualized service plans (ISP/PCISP)
Encourage independence and community involvement
Monitor client progress and report concerns to supervisors and case managers
Maintain documentation and comply with Medicaid, BDS, and agency requirements
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required
Experience working with individuals with IDD preferred
Must be at least 18 years old
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Ability to pass background checks and drug screening
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

Schedule: Flexible hours available – some evening and weekend shifts may be required
