Job Summary
We are looking for a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team! Direct Support Professionals (DSP) are responsible for providing individually-focused compassionate care and assistance to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, and/or mental health challenges. The DSP will also encourage growth towards independence in activities of daily living, socialization, community involvement, and support in expressing choices.
The ideal candidate operates with a big heart, not only providing personalized and attentive care, but also building genuine relationships with those they serve. You are detail-oriented, creative and committed to creating a healthy environment that meets client needs. Strong verbal and written communication skills are needed to succeed in this role. Prior Direct Support or Home Health Aide experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
Improve and respect the lives of individuals with physical, mental, and developmental disabilities
Assist in the implementation of individual plans and behavioral plan goals
Update individual case notes daily with feedback regarding the strengths, skills, and performance needs of individuals
Help individuals develop appropriate social, behavioral, housekeeping, and daily life skills
Assist with daily living activities, including preparing meals and assisting with personal hygiene
Assist individuals in the pursuit of recreational, social, and community activities based on their preferences and individual goals
Provide supervision and guidance for individuals during skill-building activities
Assist and encourage individuals in the establishment of social networks
Develop a rapport with individuals and cultivate a safe and supportive relationship
Ensure individuals’ rights are protected
Qualifications
High school diploma/GED required
Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and acceptable motor vehicle record preferred
Must pass Pennsylvania Criminal Background Check and drug test
Possess or be able to acquire certification in First Aid and CPR
Skills

Location This position serves clients in the Philadelphia - Narberth - Cheltenham areas, as needed. Typical hours range from 9am - 5pm.
